Dependence of Sludge Thermal Pre-treatment on its Dewatering
Žerava, Zdeněk ; Houdková, Lucie (referee) ; Boráň, Jaroslav (advisor)
The first part of the thesis is focused on the problems related to sludge and evaluates sludge disposal from waste treatment plants. The thesis mentions factors influencing method selection of sludge disposal as well as it compares sludge disposal in the Czech Republic and in the other states of the EU. It describes a complete waste treatment line and sludge disposal in the area of sludge treatment and disposal. It deals with sludge disintegration and describes the most effective methods of disintegration. The second part of the thesis describes an experimental part of disintegration of waste treatment sludge. An experiment was conducted in the school laboratory in a way of thermal disintegration in the double-surface pressure tank. The disintegration was conducted to temperatures of 60 °C, 90 °C, 120 °C, 150 °C, and 180 °C. We monitored dependence of the sludge dry residue content on disintegration temperature as well as content of suspended solids in liquid fraction (FUGAT). It was possible to choose optimal temperature of disintegration in accordance with processed results.
Dependence of Sludge Dewatering efficiency on amount of flocculant
Volejník, Tomáš ; Medek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Boráň, Jaroslav (advisor)
The target of the first part of this diploma thesis is focused on the problems relating to the sludge production from the wastewater treatment plant and subsequent sludge treatment. Wastewater treatment plant and individual processes from the sludge management are described. The process of the sludge dewatering is described more extensively. Various methods of the dewatering and materials balance are described, too. The second part of this thesis is based on the experiment which took place on wastewater treatment plant Tetčice. The influence of the polymeric organic flocculant dosing on the sludge dewatering was monitored by this experiment. Dependence of the sludge dry matter and filtrate suspended solids content on the specific amount of flocculant was evaluated from experiment’s outputs. Using materials balance and outputs of the experiment, economical balance was made. It made possible to choose the most economic and technologically optimal way of the sludge dewatering on wastewater treatment plant Tetčice.
Vztah mezi obsahem vápníku, složením a technologickými vlastnostmi mléka krav v průběhu roku
Životská, Hana
This bachelor thesis is focused mainly on summary of calcium content, composition and technological properties of cow milk during a year. Into the literary review were given the information about the cow's milk and its structure and of its characteristics, which were observed in this work. Samples for laboratory analysis were obtained from cows of Holstein breed, namely from University Farm in Žabčice. These samples were collected during the whole year (from October 29th 2014 to July 28th 2015). Measured values of selected parameters were evaluated and processed into tables and graphs. Statistically verified results indicates that the content of the monitored components of milk and its technological characteristics besides other factors also the season (in the summer calcium content achieved values on averaged 1,18 g/l and 1,28 g/l in the winter). Moreover, it was demonstrated a positive correlation dependence, between protein and calcium (r = 0,36), protein and density (r = 0,88) or between lactose and density (r = 0,95) for instance.
Traditional Methods of Fish Preservation in Southeast Asia
Holmanová, Kateřina ; Banout, Jan (advisor) ; Leuner, Olga (referee)
Traditional methods of fish preservation are still often used in developing countries, which produce significant amount of fresh fish. The most frequently used methods of processing fish in Cambodia are drying, salting, fermentation, smoking and marinating. Sun drying as one of the most common methods of fish processing in Cambodia has some disadvantages, which increase spoilage of final product. Salting contributes to increase efficiency of drying process. Salt creates highly salty environment, which the most bacteria, fungi and other potentially pathogenic organism cannot survive in. The aim of this Bachelors thesis was to carry out research focused on drying method in combination with salting. For five selected spices of freshwater fish: Claris batrachus, Channa micropeltes, Oreochromis niloticus, Pangasius hypophthalmus and Monopterus albus were determined dry matter content, fat content and salting effect on the amount of salt. Samples, before drying in direct solar dryer with natural convection and electric oven, were salted for 2, 4 and 12 hours. Results of measuring of dry matter content are within the interval 16.67 to 21.74 g on 100 g of fresh muscle, the lowest values were measured at C. batrachus and the highest at O. niloticus. Measuring of fat content showed difference in the interval 2.29 - 30.08 %, the lowest value at M. albus and highest at P. hypophthalmus. From the measurements of amount of salt were found influence of the salting time on the total amount of salt. Values increased with the higher time of salting. An important prerequisite for achieving high-quality dried products is characteristic properties for individual fish species to achieve maximum yield.
